Hi all!
I am new here - obviously! I currently have 50 lovely ladies. I simply adore them! I started with raising chickens about two springs ago now. My chickens have three large houses. I have a large 50X80 highly fenced in area and my husband and I are expanding it. I have many egg customers and more on a wait list. I love to spoil all my girls and they are about 90% named! I am a teacher and I have a contest each spring at my school to have the students at the school (voting is open to the ENTIRE student body) name the new babies. I have brought a few of them in for a couple of days and my 1st grade students and I do a chicken science unit. I have Easter Eggers, Australorps, Barnevelders, Sapphire Gems, Marans, Silver Laced Sussex and I hate to say it, my most favorite, Salmon Faverolles and two Cream Legbars who are fabulous! In my journey, I have lost one girl to a uterine infection and one to a predator. I think that's a pretty good success rate. I have been watching many threads here for advice. I look forward to connecting with you all!

Welcome. You sound like you have a lovely flock. When did you lose our hen to an infection?
