My name is Martha,
I have been around chickens for over 50 years, In fact I like them better than people. As a kid we raised Chickens and when I was 18 got my first flock. I have not been without some kind of chickens in over 35 years.
Right now I have 15 D'uccle's (Blue Mottled, Black Mottled Gold Neck, Millie Fleur and Blue Millie Fleur.) (3 are Roosters)
I also have 19 Bantam Cochins (3 Red Frizzles (Bantam Cochins in red, blue, Lavender, Silver penciled and 1 Golden laced Bantam hen.) (9 are Roosters (6 of these are in with my big chickens)
I have 2 black bearded silkie roosters.
2 Rhode Island/Welsummer hens.
2 Rhode Island/EE hens
My chickens are separated according to breed right now until I am ready to hatch some eggs, which won't be for several months till summer.
I have been reading BYC for some time now and thoroughly enjoy it. I am not much of a poster.
I have 3 grown Daughters- 12 grandchildren and 1 on the way and 1 Great Grandson. Most live in different states so don't see them very often.
I have 5 goats 2 cats and several dogs.
I also like to raise some vegetables during most of the year etc.
