We have used McMurray for two years now and are very satisfied. Read the first few pages in their catalog with regard to receiving and caring for your chickens. The big thing is MAKE SURE that all the chickens drink water as soon as you get them. Don't be afraid to stick their beaks in the water and let them take 3+ good drinks. Watch closely for the first few hours to make sure everyone is OK - unfortunately the stress of shipping can be too much for some - but we have only had a few losses. Depending on the ages of your children you might want to prepare them for this - don't mean to be doom and gloomy about this - but wanted to let you know since you said you are new to this.

Next watch how they react to the heat lamps and read in the catalog about too much/little heat and adjust accordingly. I ofter this information since we learned as we went and wanted to pass along our experience as newbies two years ago.
