I have been browsing topics for a week or so as we are collecting our chickens in just over a week!

Ok, to introduce my situation.

I have two dogs and a cat.

In a week a green Eglu Cube shall arrive with a 3m run. We got this off eBay, Omlet were selling it but it was reduced as a woman had had it delivered but then changed her mind. So it's like one month old but in brand new condition. Got it for under £750. Going to get plastic corrugated sheeting to put on either side and cable ties after reading some threads. The sheets are to help with wind/rain as we are in England.

As we have a killer cat, get foxes normally at night in the next door garden and our garden backs onto a dog/child park, we won't be free ranging very much. But I will be having bonding time with each hen every day. Do you reckon if they want to walk around instead of cuddle at this time it would be ok? Just one at a time obviously. But I'll make sure to give each the same amount of time. Or should they just cuddle? Or both? I'll be sitting next to the Cube.

We are planning to have a Hen Party in order for our friends to meet the chickens. we want to make it fun but serious so if anyone has chicken related games/fun ideas we could do then please suggest them.

We will probably get addicted and get more hens and runs. We have space but need to sort out the other, wilder, fenced off part of the garden first.

The day after we get back from holiday...Let me eggsplain, going on holiday for a few days but someone is coming back early to set up the Eglu (and to avoid going to see relatives!) So, when we get back on the 28th (of this month), we should have a fully assembled Eglu. Then we will go to Homebase (if anyone has better suggestions on sheeting etc that can be bought at Homebase let me know).

Also, what do we put on the floor or do we just leave the grass? Probably won't do tiles.

So anyway, on the 29th we will be picking up our Bantams (two frizzles included!)

Also, I may as well lump this on here, any tips for casual poultry showers?

I'll probably think of other things to ask but that's all for now, thanks :)
