I was just checking to see if other folks have had a problem with rats? I have killed quite a few with a trap in my pen. 2 times, something in the last 6 months has taken an egg out of my coop and into the pen and eaten it. I have a trap set Every night, and my coop is always locked up early eve. but just don't understand how that happened. My coop is really secure, has to be happening early morning when I let them out, and how did it get the egg out of the nesting box and down the ramp without breaking it? I know it can not be a coon or pos! any ideas? Also I really would like to buy a few more Seramas to add to what I have. I only have Seramas, don't sell or show, just care for, love, and use for my garden. My beautiful friendly pet rooster Nugget, does not seem to know how to breed. He likes me more than the hens. I would like to buy 2 more seramas hens and one more rooster. I live in SE Portland, Oregon in the Mt. Tabor area.
