Hello...

My name is beckyd and I have some hens and a rooster.. I need all the help I can get.. My hens lay in the same box but only one sits on the eggs.. She has been sitting on 13 eggs two of which hatched yesterday.. The question is will they all hatch or is she done?? How do I know??

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

Usually a hen will leave the nest once she feels no more eggs will hatch. 13 eggs is a lot of eggs for a hen to be able to cover, some may have not been kept warm enough during incubation.

If your other hens have been laying in the same nest box, the hatch dates would be scattered.
