I am new to chickens. I got my first dozen on Easter.
I have White Plymouth Rocks and New Hampshire Reds. I found BackYardChickens.com will searching for unique coops and runs for my girls. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren.

Good luck on your project. Building a coop can be as fun as you want it. I'm in WI not exactly warm all yr round. So I made ours more insulation friendly to keep them warmer. And the windows we put in allow a great breeze in the summer. If I had anything I would change it would be an addition - not as tall or long. Higher enclosed easily accessible for the new babies we get each summer. Its worth it to have that desperate place.
