Just registered. Looks like an awesome site. I am not a newbie with chickens but I am always looking yo learn more. I currently have six hens and a nice electric pen for them. The pen is a new thing for us. We have had it for two days. Prior to this nh chickens were free range. They went wherever. They wanted on the farm. However, new neighbors across road does bog keep track of their dogs. Yep lost a couple of chickens. They don't like the electric fence though. Hope it keeps working.

So glad to have you here. I'm sorry about the chickens you lost. I bet the electric fence works very well! Too bad your neighbors are letting their dogs roam though. Good luck to you!

maybe you should amp up your fence a little. For predators some people smear peanut butter on strips of foil and wrap that on the fence (when power is off) -when they go for the peanut butter (or could be bacon) they will wise up faster about the fence.
 
Thanks for all for welcoming me. I am going to suggest this site to my mom. She has her chickens as well. She grew up with them and full of knowledge. She has taught me a bunch about chickens. I know she would love this site:)
 
I never did mention what I have . I guess I should say we. My ten year old daughter loves our chickens:) OK,3 Rhode Island Reds, 1 Aracauna, 1 Americauna, and one I don't know. Sorry for any mmisspellings. Would love to get a BO.
