I rescue crippled chicks and chickens. I know it sounds crazy, but they make wonderful pets. Just wish I could litter train them. I saw the thread, but I can't seem to get them to poop on command. I go thru so many towels...lol.

! Pleased you joined our flock! It doesn't sound crazy at all - chickens do make great pets. I have read at least one post where someone claims to have housebroken their chicken. I would have to see that to believe it. They do make chicken diapers if you can believe it!! Type in those two words - you'll get a lot of hits. Good luck to you!!

Thank you. Looking forward to learning lots. Right now, I have 2 crippled adolescent chickens. 1 has no toes, the other has deformed legs, with no range of motion. I plan to give them the best life they can have, for as long as they are comfortable. I have raised egg hens, and meat birds. ( turns out I can't eat them).
