hi my name is lisa and im new at this back yard chicken stuff. i have raised my chickens from babies. i have 2 rhode island reds and 3 ameraucanas. 4 of them are hens and 1 is a rooster. when i started this i didnt want any roosters because of the crowing but when i went and bought them and thought i was getting all hen one turned out to be a rooster. so far hes pretty cool but he is still very young. the ameraucanas are about 2months old and the reds are 3 months old. so here i am and i hope i dont bug you all to much with questions.

Welcome to BYC, Lisa! Don't worry about asking questions. We are here to help in any way we can. Since you are new to chickens, you may have Easter Eggers rather than true Ameraucanas (It happens a lot of times). If you are interested in knowing the difference, there is a good article on it at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/09/ameraucana-easter-egger-or-araucana.html We have some Easter Eggers, and they are my granddaughter's favorite chickens. She loves the colored eggs they lay. Good luck with your flock.

By the way, not saying that you will do anything bad, but no fowl play

You know, we are here to help.

Thanks GF that's mean Golden Feathers would you like some rooster's.

I don't know if you realize or not but Golden Feather is kind of a title. LOL You are new to the group so you are a New Egg. Your title changes after so many posts, I am Sylviaanne but my "title" here is Chicken Obsessed.
