I'm afraid i don't have chickens at the moment but I have dairy goats, because I don't eat meat or buy milk or eggs at the store, so I really want some chickens or turkeys for eggs. Do you know a cheap way to keep the hawks away? Could the game warden take care of them? I live only a mile away from a state park.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! You might like to check out the Predator forum, there are quite a few threads on deterring hawks https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/13/predators-and-pests they are protected in most areas and can't be harmed.

If you want to post in another section of the forums. go to the top of this page where it says, "Home" "Learning Center" and the next one is "Forum". Click on that. A long list of forum subjects will come up. Pick the forum that best suits your question and click on that heading. Then at the top beneath that heading will be a button that says. "Start a New Thread". Click on that and you can ask a question.

If you just wish to comment within a thread, do as you did here and hit "reply".
