I found this forum while researching for the building of our coop. It's now mostly built, just awaiting the nest box extension, and residents have moved in, so I figured it was time for me to join
The chickens are Christmas presents from my aunt, she gave my sister and I notes with pictures of chickens and an IOU, and my mum and dad lots of vouchers for a local farm supply shop. The lad has been settling in for 2 weeks and the ladies for a week now.
< Benedict
< Olivia and Fried (my sister named her....)
Benedict was kind of a rescue, a farm up the road were having boy troubles, so we gave him a home, I'm afraid he's not at the top of the pecking order with us either, Fried is most definitely in charge, she's quite a feisty little thing. So far we've had 2 escapees to next door under the fence, poor Benedict didn't fit and was making quite the racket, they have succeeded in scaring off both of the cats and the excitingness of 2 eggs
