I am really looking forward to meeting lots of new people...and being able to have lots of support as a newbie chicken momma. The 6 chicks I have were hatched at my daughters school as part of a project from egg through to chick. My 10yr old daughter loved them and on one of my many visits to the school at pick up I would go and see how they were doing....imagine my horror when I found out they would be taken to a hawk centre after 2weeks.........my heart could not let this happen...hence where I am now...but I can truly say how great and funny they are and we as a family are looking forward to seeing them grow up. Only problem is I don't know what breed they are or the sex. I think because of feathery legs they are from the bantam family. I will post some photos in the correct forum.

Hello and thank you so much for replying...it's also my first time on any kind of site like this!!! How do I import photos...I'm not the most technical minded:P

NP, glad to help!

Right above the box where you enter your message, there should be a little photo icon close to the smiley face icon.

Great idea from school hatch chicks to become hawk food. I am SO not happy with that. Thank you for rescuing them. I hope you will be posting photos soon, I look forward to seeing them. Welcome to Backyard chickens.
