I'm new here, an ex-Cali turned Oakie. My name is Leslie. I hatched my first Silkie 20 years ago. When my baby grandson saw it, he pointed & said "Cookie" so that's what we called it. It lived in the house with all my Yorkies, and had the cutest white fluff butt I've ever seen. Months later it was literally screaming in the kitchen & the dogs barking like crazy. I ran in and there "She" was, jumping around her 1st egg
. She use to make the strangest deep sounds, instead of normal chicken squawk. I realized she was Barking (trying her best anyway) since she knew no other animal language. Anyway, that was my Cookie.
