HELLPP!! What color are my peachicks?

Using cedar shaving in open air pens are safe IMO it is when you put them into closed areas or tight pens without alkot of ventalation you are going to have problems, i use them in my pens when i had a flea outbreak.

I beg to differ on it being safe even when ventilated, as it's not just the fumes, it's the oils in the wood and their contact with skin and eyes or the ingestion that are toxic as well...

HEALTH HAZARD DATA
There is a slight fire and explosion hazard when exposed to heat or flame. It is used in perfumes and insecticides and is a mild irritant and allergen. It has been used to induce abortions, sometimes with fatal results. It is a narcotic and may affect the kidneys. Acute exposure to the skin may result in irritation. It will irritate the eyes, possibly severely. Inhalation may irritate the respiratory tract with heavy exposure causing dizziness, headache and nausea. Prolonged exposure may cause kidney damage. Ingestion will irritate the gastrointestinal tract, bladder and kidneys and may cause headache, dizziness and nausea. The results may be fatal.

I personally don't want my birds, laying, bedding, pecking anywhere near it, IMO not worth the risk I have seen first hand too many times...

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is downright toxic as well, dangerous stuff that should be respected and not treated as 'safe' like many do... The irony is that many career 'drug abusers' know this full well and do extractions to remove the acetaminophen when they abuse pills like Vicodins and Lortabs...

Acetaminophen, sold under the brand name Tylenol, among others, may be among the most dangerous medicines on the market. I'm sure this comes as a surprise to most of you, as virtually every single household keeps a bottle on hand for the occasional ache and pain, and doesn't think twice about taking it.

Not thinking, it turns out, could cost you dearly... Acetaminophen overdose is actually the leading cause for calls to Poison Control Centers across the US—more than 100,000 instances per year—and, each year, is responsible for:

More than 56,000 emergency room visits
2,600 hospitalizations
An estimated 458 deaths due to acute liver failure

In fact, according to data from the Acute Liver Failure Study Group registry, acetaminophen poisoning is responsible for nearly HALF of ALL acute liver failure cases in the US.2 As stated in a paper published in the journal Hepatology an entire decade ago:

http://www.lawyersandsettlements.com/lawsuit/tylenol.html#.VBZwLMKwKqY
The Mayo Clinic lists acetaminophen (e.g., Tylenol) as one of the major causes of acute liver failure—and the most common cause of liver failure in the US. Within days of taking a very large dose of Tylenol, acute liver failure can develop.

Tylenol overdose may overwhelm the liver's defenses and cause liver damage or even liver failure. Liver failure can be fatal; the only known cure for acute liver failure is a liver transplant.

I know i have had doctors try and put me on meds that are known to cause all kinds of problems worse than what i am trying to deal with, i just live with it the best i can and don't go to doctors any more unless i get a bad bite .

spiders seem to like to try my fleah pretty darn often , almost died 2 times in one year and have had at least 5 non life threating bites this year alone. i can't say i hate spiders but darn thing got me so jumpy nowdays that when i get hit in the face with a web on my rounds i have fallen down more than once running backwards
