I have recently become a new chicken mom. I am so fascinated by these birds and their intelligence. I finally joined this group because I get most of the answers I need here.
I have 3 EE pulluts? Well, 1 for sure. The other two may be roos. I went to a local farm and got a 7 month old roo and a hen to keep him busy. I'm in love with this rooster. He does his job. He also makes the hens nest, makes sure she gets the best treats. If he finds a bug, he calls to her to come get it. He guards her when shes laying. But see, here is the problem, just today he came up dancing on me twice. So, I looked through this forum and read that's an absolute no no. I walked into the back yard with purpose and made him move out of my way, he attacked me. Not bad, but an attack none the less. So I chased his butt around trying to catch him, but he speedy Gonzalezed me. I'm not getting rid of him, that's not an option. He does his job. I'm an alpha female, all of my other pets, dog and cats know that when I make the "no" sound, that's a wrap. I need some advice about letting this bird know, I'm the boss. Mind you, i just left the welding industry and I have always been a tomboy, so I'm not afraid of pain, so his attack didn't phase me or make me jump in fear. What are my options besides death?
