Hey everyone! I really need your help. I'm new to keeping poultry and I've never had anything like this happen before. I currently have 4 hens and 1 Pekin duck, none of them are vaccinated cause we recently got them and mosquitoes have been awful this summer.

Today, I noticed that one of my hens has scabs on her wattle (pictures 1 & 2). I immediately isolated her because it looks like dry pox. I also started applying antiseptic and cleaned the whole coop. Later on, I saw another hen with this kind of lesions around her beak/nostril (picture 3), but when I checked her mucous membranes, everything seemed fine.

I'm particularly worried about my 4-year-old male Pekin duck. So far, he hasn't shown any symptoms, but since he's in the same environment as the affected hens, I'm not sure if he's at risk. Can ducks catch avian pox too? Should I isolate him just in case, or take any specific precautions to protect him?

I know there's no real treatment for dry pox so I’m really worried. Any advice would be appreciated!

I don’t know anything about ducks, but with chickens fowl pox isn’t really a big deal. I never even treat mine for it, other than a vitamin supplement. If I had vulnerable chickens (really old, young, or sick with something else) I would separate them/those until the outbreak is done. But if all of my chickens are perfectly healthy, all I will do is vitamin supplement.
