I had 5 chicks. they all were doing fine and well. we built their coop outside ad after 7 weeks put them outside but kept them in the hen house with heat lamp. there was places for them to be in shade and places for warmth i followed the directions for house building very carefully. no treated wood good ventilation etc... i put pine shavings down which was new they had been using a differet bedding. the 2nd day they were out there one chick died. two days later another one is lathargic and having trouble breathing. the other three chicks seem fine. dont know what to do. food has not changed when it is warmer out we let them run the yard and they have eaten worms and backyard bugs. was it too soon to let them outside? do i start over and how do i make sure the new flock does not die he same way? what do i do with the sick one?

thanks

I wish I knew more, but you should quarantine the sick chick. 7 weeks isn't too early for them to be outside if they have all their feathers. Could they have eaten something that is causing this?
Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will respond.
Sorry for your loss.
