Help! 1 year old hen is balding and skin is yellow

I check them pretty frequently and it’s never been yellow before. Maybe it’s just turning yellow because she’s not laying as much?

No, that's not how it works.

Some parts of the bird will be more yellow then others. It maybe really pale in some places, & really yellow in others.

I think your Sapphire gem might actually be a Barred Rock. Sapphire gems are a type of blue sex link, with only the males having barring.

The majority of olive Eggers are White skinned depending on the mix.

I was reading that sometimes their pigment can change based on when they’re laying or not is why I mentioned that. I’ll try to find that thread to link.

She's not blue though, & all hatcheries have a different type of a specific bird.

That's a sapphire gem x olive Egger. It's a different mix.

Yea, she’s definitely an Olive egger and not a barred rock.
