Today, I almost shut my silkie chicks head in the coop door! Boy, did I feel HORRIBLE!

That seems to happen to me way more than it should

i am sorry, i just didn't know what else to call it. some do sleep o the perch, but they are only 3-4 weeks old and the perch is a big jump!

My two month old bantams love sleeping ON the nest boxes, not in them they don't like the roost ladders yet either

It is probably bruising that you are seeing but without seeing it myself I can’t be sure.

Is it green under the skin or the skin itself?

Have you looked farther up the leg for other injuries like a puncture wound from the wire?

It would be really helpful if you could post some good pictures so the experts here (I’m not one of them) can help you.
Do you or a friend have a smart phone?
Easiest way to do it without a doubt.

Otherwise I’d consider splinting the entire leg.

I have NO experience with broken bones in people or animals, but when your finger turned green what did you have to do? Can you do the same for the chick's leg?

i already have posted pics, no puncture wounds, the wire was on its flat side. it looks like is may be the skin.
