I agree with ten chicks, it's probably a bruise. Just keep a close eye on it. Epsom salt soaks are also great for keeping infection out and pulling out any active infections. I swear by the stuff!

Thanks for the advice.Remove wrap if she cannot peck at area and leave wrap off or wrap loosely. I would like a little more air getting to wound,too much wrapping can keep in moisture and cause maceration of skin,which can promote bacteria growth,possibly remove with supervision for a couple of hours? Clean wounds at least twice daily using a peroxide(or similar product) flush(2 tsp in one cup warm water)stronger if smell or infection,apply antibiotic ointment,nothing ending in 'caine/cane"toxic to chickens.
If infection begins to increase,she made need antibiotics.

Today she seemed a lot better! She tried to get out of her cardboard "home" by flying up and perching on the top! I reckoned she is recovering if she can do that!![]()
