Hello all. This is my first post on BYC! We just started a small flock and one of the chicks did not make it from the hatchery. I went out the next day and found someone selling just hatched easter eggers straight run. I bought two, figuring I'd just play the odds in hopes that one would turn out to be a pullet. They are 5 weeks old now. I have been reading about sexing easter eggers, and it seems like more of an art than a science, so I would appreciate some more experienced opinions on this, pics (sorry they are not in great focus-wiggly chickens):

^this is "petunia" who I am starting to suspect is a roo based on the red comb, posture, and the way s/he interacts with the other girls.

^this is "poppy" who I am pretty sure is a pullet.
I don't know anything about parentage. I knew I was gambling when I bought them but would be happy if just one is a hen. Unfortunately, our municipality does not allow roosters. We have a friend who will take one or both if they turn out to be boys, but I will be sad to do that since we have gotten attached to both of them.
