Help a Polish to see better?

My polish has a mohawk

It's usually the larger feathers, like the wings and tail, that can present a problem with blood feathers. Still, blood feathers aren't as much of a problem with chickens as it is with parrots.

While I don't have any advice, I just wanted to say that you have a lovely chicken there! Very pretty!

Thank you for the compliments and advice! I purchased some short, rounded tip scissors today and tomorrow is haircut day! She will be so relieved. I just hope we can get the little "Nervous Nellie" to hold somewhat still! lol

We had a polish who had the same issues as yours. We just trimmed up her bangs and she was fine. Although it was a lot harder to sneak up on her and pick her up afterwards, because she could actually see us, and would run away!

She might be a bit wacky for a while afterwards, since she will be able to see. Sometimes, they spaz out, but return to normal soon!

Good luck!

I was recently told I could trim some of the feathers back on my silkie because she gets lost out in the middle of the yard trying to keep up with my youngin's. I'm not sure if you can with a polish. I know they are different kinds of feathers?!

Have you thought about calling a local vet who deals with chickens and asking if its ok with the breed?

We just gave our polish rooster a hair cut too and now we call him maguyver because it looks like he has a mullet! lol. Business in the front, party in the back
