From a feed store bin, though? I know that pattern hints at a couple of rare breeds but EEs can look like that too and I think I see a beard. But yes, a clear shot would really help.
I hope these pictures are better...and someone can tell me what kind of chicks I have. I bought the RIR's and the Americauna from the pullet bin. My husband bought 6 from the straight run bin and those are the ones I;m not so sure of. The ones with pronounced combs and red dangly things...(still don't know what those are called) are the only two that are bigger then the others and their tail feathers are much prettier. Also, one of the "roosters" is starting to act really weird. He goes off alone and normally they all 12 stick together. Should I be concerned about this? He seems to be eating and drinking and they free range all day. Thanks for all the help so far...
Your black birds with red bibs are for sure girls. They are the females of the black sex-links. The one bird with really big comb and wattles (the red things) is absolutely 100% a rooster. I suspect he's a male black sex-link (The females are mostly black, the males are barred).
If the pics are all of different birds, then I'm seeing two sexlink roos, a cuckoo Marans pullet (if she has pinkish legs) or barred Plymouth Rock pullet (if she has yellow legs), and two sexlink pullets.
Thank you thank you thank you. you all have been so helpful. someone I know who has chicks (but can't keep them alive for some reason) made me doubt my feeling that I had two Roo's. Not sure why I listened...they can't even keep their chicks alive!!! That rooster is gonna find a new happy home soon because he is harassing the others. They haven't started laying yet, but as soon as they do, he's free!!!
