HELP!!! Abandoned Baby Mouse!!!!

I am the biggest sucker for any type of creature, but make sure that you are thinking about your safety and the safety of your family members before taking in this sick mouse. Mice and other rodents carry SEVERAL diseases that are communicable to humans. Please take a minute to do some research, ie Hanta virus. Even if they do not look sick, you can catch diseases from their feces, urine and their parasites.

Here's the link for Wikipedia's write up on Hanta virus. Remember, this is not the only thing you can catch, there are others! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanta_virus

I saved a baby house mouse once... I found it by my woodstove, but it was just at the stage where it could start eating and drinking on it's own. If my dog hadn't have picked her up in her mouth the thing would've died of dehydration like it's sibling did (I didn't know!).

Everything was going fine. The little bugger loved being in the warmth of my hand, but as she got older she got more shy... I guess instincts kicked in.

I'd like to think she made it. I was cleaning her cage one night and she escaped back into the house.

they will "bit" your hand when they get older.

mouse/mice/rat carry disease and many people has been died caused by disease carried by mouse/rat/mice.

from hundreds years ago till now and present, people fights rat/mouse/mice cause they "ruin" harvest of rice and corn and other food we people need, even farmer raise numbers of owls only to kill rat and the rat never decreased too much in number and keep ruin every harvest and spread disease. that's why if there are mouse/mice/rat except "mouse" that attached to my laptop, it won't live for more than 5 minutes if he meet me. you can find hundreds of mouse/rats in here.

Thanks for all the help but unfortunately I just had to bury the baby mouse. An hour ago I fed him and I just went out and he wasn't breathing. Thanks for all the help, now I know what to do if I find another baby mouse.

I know, right? Mine would have probably stomped it.

Mine would have thrown it in the chicken pen and watched them play keep away. Sorry it died and I'm sure you are a grown man and were aware of the risks. I still think it was sweet.
