Help!!! Accidental baby chicks

Haha yes chicken math.... So I've heard. Of course she will keep them until they can be seperared. I cld never pull them apart. I have a full sized barn that they all use. I just have to find a way to separat them. My rooster is a meanie and will go after them as soon as he knows they are there.
Good luck to him on that! Momma hens are mean and can easily make the meanest roosters high tail and run!

Put the whole flock onto chick crumb. Keep an eye on the other chickens attacking the baby chick while mum still has eggs to hatch and before she can protect them. They will want to nest low down on the floor and somewhere not too dark most likely so make a safe place for them. Enjoy the journey. I've just been though it all myself. Great fun

Thanks everyone! Yes she made her nest on the floor in a hidden corner. So that helps. Just checked this am and all are well. She let's me get close and look but the others are staying away it seems bc she goes nuts when they come near. I just have to set up a barrier for mamma and the babies so they can move around without the others messing with them. Weekend project I suppose!

You can try a barrier but my very determined broody escaped my setup, babies in tow. When they are ready momma knows. She will keep them safe from the others but if you're worried keep an eye. Most of the time when that screaming ball of fluff comes barrelling at them other animals hightail it outta the way!

Update, everyone is doing well and she is super protective of them. She allows me to touch them but that's about it. A twist to the story is, she left the last egg yet to hatch on the best. It was cold and honestly though it was a dud. Well it got its beak a part of the way through the shell and just stopped, no movement all day. I took the egg inside and warmed it up and it seemed to being it back a little. Thanks to byc I searched and found some info on how to help it. It was coming out of the wrong end as well. After many hours of helping it made it out of the shell and dried off. It is now a beautiful baby hen! As soon as it got dark I snuck it under mama hen and now we shall see... I hope she takes it back!!
