My poor silkie boy has started with a respiratory infection, bunged up sinus. Treated with VetRX which worked very well and seemed to be on the mend. He is eating/drinking and responsive. A couple of days ago his eye swelled up very quickly....abscess?? I've FNA and nothing.

Do l try lance this? Or call it aday? Is this Mycoplasma?? The lump does feel hard. No hock swelling yet!!

He's been isolated and kepted indoors, warm. He's had a bath and steamed with VetRX regularly.

I don't know what todo for the best?
I Trying to figure out how to put a picture on.......

Yes, that could be mycoplasma (MG.) Antibiotics such as tylosin (Tylan) or oxytetracycline are commonly used to treat symptoms. A vet may be needed to get those in the UK. Many respiratory diseases make carriers of the whole flock for life. By closing the flock to any birds coming in or going out, many can control the disease, but wild birds can then spread it.

I recently had to deal with mycoplasma synoviae. My roosters had it the worst congested eyes swollen shut or almost shut, sneezes gaspt rattely breathing. Tylan injections helped some. I have heard Denaguard works well, but I did not try it since I decided to start over since I want to sell eggs and chicks but any from my flock would have been carriers. Good luck. I hope it is something else.

Just to end this post, l decided to cull my rooster as it wasn't fair to him. He was a looker aswell!!
Thank you for your posts flock master and true byc addict.

I hope l don't see those symptoms again!!
