Help!!! Agressive Roo...big Daddy...DREW BLOOD PIC. ON 3RD PAGE

Ok, Havent been able to catch him to hold him and do the Cesar Milan way at all...he runs from me...Today I had alot to do before the rains kick in...so I went in to feed the flock, without thinking about Big Daddy...Sure enough before I could do anything...He came at me and went up high and attacked...my only defense was putting my leg out to protect my chest and face....

this is the result

this is just the front side of my leg, also have it along the backside

I have a nice size puncture on the top of the leg, then on the inner sides, and back also...lower leg by my boots edge..thats blood from another wound...

THERE HAS TO BE A SOLUTION!!!

We had an aggresive roo... Junebug! So My 14 yr old daughter took a plastic baseball bat, wrapped it in duct tape, and wrote "JunBugger 3,000" on it! Takes a couple of wacks, but it worked without really hurting him!

well Ive been doing that now for a couple of months...so others said try it reverse, and do a cesar milan techinque...grab him until he submits...but I cant get my hands on him. Today I did wack him good. Gosh, Im in pain big time..and doctoring my wounds...he really got me!!!

So Im lost as to what to do...thought of taking him out of the main flock coop...which is where he has his women...8 of them..and putting him alone, and moving another roo in there....??? any idea??? He use to be so gentle and never was this way before at all!!!! I dont understand this.

His hormones kicked in and he is obviously too aggressive to keep. If he were mine I would send him to freezer camp myself or give him to someone who would. Why keep doing this to yourself? You shouldn't have to put yourself in danger tending you chickens.

I have this problem with one of my purebred roos...I just scream and run at him like a "nut case" when he starts his circle dance. Now he runs away from me.

But what about cutting the spurs down?? Wouldn't this at least keep them from hurting us so much? I can cope with a few pecks, it is those leg gashes that get me.

imagine what your neighbors are thinking!! LOL

Ya...fortunately the chickens are in the back so no humans see my crazy actions or they would probably call the white coats! I, too, tried all the other things to get this roo to act a bit more civilly to no avail. Sad thing is I RAISED him from a day old (hatchery mystery chick that turned out to be just what I needed).

Maybe he was babied too much but when he matured he turned into the rooster from hell. Finally one day I just went beserk and started screaming, flapping my arms, and running after him (really, at the time I wanted to kill him). He couldn't run away fast enough ... now if he sometimes starts his little "dance" I just eye him up, let loose with a little shriek...and he heads for the hills. I did think about cutting his spurs at one time, may still do that just in case.

Bizzybirdy....next time you scream and run at your rooster like a 'nut' can I watch? Maybe you should sell tickets! When I got a picture of that in my mind I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes! Thanks for the laugh!
