Help and advice needed! Injured Rooster comb

Hey all,

I was just wondering if anyone could help me work out what’s happened to my Light Sussex roosters comb?

I did noticed it had some dark spots/doscolouration the other day however when I’ve looked today he has scabs and open sores, I think these would’ve only appeared yesterday or today.

I have no idea what this could be from? If it was one of my hens there wouldn’t be any doubt that it was fighting amongst themselves or a rooster injury but my rooster has an amazing temperament and he’s lovely to his girls… I’m just worried this is maybe a predator or disease issue?

Either way, what’s the best way I can treat this or am I best to leave it alone?

Do you have metal feeders or metal fences?
