Difference in Easter Egger vs Olive Egger

Pink eggs are really brown with a heavy bloom on them. If you wet them they go brown.
Olive eggers are from a chicken and rooster that have a blue egg gene and the other one has a brown egg gene. The off spring of an olive egger is an Easter egger. That means the carry the blue and brown gene so their offspring can lay blue, green, olive or brown eggs, you won’t know until they start to lay. Hope that helps!
My cream leg bar and aruacanas lay blue eggs. Crossed with a maran or Rhode Island Red you would get an olive egger.

Do you see a big difference in egg color in OE vs EE?
Yes... i get at least on olive egger each year, i love the darker green (khaki green color) they lay.. EG Ive had lay a range of green from dark to light green, even some pinkish color... never a true blue, as the cross genes probably wont get your to blue. - im trying some leg bars this year to see if i can get a blue .... also, look at the inside of the green eggs you get to see the blue (after cracking the egg) as the protoporphyrin IX proses coloring the egg brown is what colors that blue egg green. ... have fun on you journey.
