Hi I was spraying my chickens with anti feather pecking spray because one of them has started feather pecking all the others and I accidentally inhaled quite a bit of it because it just goes everywhere and is very strong now I am worried about my chickens inhaling it and myself, has anyone else had experience with anti feather pecking spray and did you inhale it ? Were your chickens ok after? I am never going to use it again!

Hi crazychick5,

I found on a UK based chicken care forum, where a member experienced the same results you describe from using Net Tex anti pecking spray. They actually had to wash some of the spray off of their birds because of the fumes, see reply/post # 11 ; http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?topic=92665.0

During this same search I found a short thread here on Back Yard Chickens, which offers many great suggestions to prevent pecking, including a 'home made' solution; https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/338135/anti-pecking-spray-questions

Side Note: One 'home made' recipe on the UK site suggested using Tea Tree Oil, this extract should NEVER be used on an animal where it might be ingested, especially as an anti pecking deterrent, because if ingested Tea Tree Oil will shut down an animals liver functions.
