One thing I discovered when I was a kid was oil will kill a nest of ants. Mom had me throw out the bottle of castor oil (of which I was glad to do...uck) and I poured it on a nest of underground ants. Next day dead ants all over the place! Idk, maybe any oil will do, even cooking oil.

Will cornmeal hurt my chickens if they eat it? Like if they eat a lot?

I would not give them that as a regular diet. Not enough protein or vitamins/minerals they need.
