I have my incubator running and the ants have invaded! They are not harming anything at the moment but I am afraid they could be detrimental to the chicks when they hatch.

suck them up with the vacuum then spray a perimeter of ant killer around the incubator (not getting any on it, or fumes in it) I think thats what I would try

What about one of those ant baits (the little square ones)? (To put outside the incubator.)

I use them every year when the ants try to come in our home (sugar ants) and they work pretty well for us. I have to put like two at every door and keep all traces of food/dishes away from the window/sink area when it happens. Some of the brands work better than others. The tan ones didn't work for us, but the black ones do.

I'd recommend the liquid Terro ant baits. Place a few along the ant's path(s). Give it a couple days and no more ants.
