HELP Aspirated duck

Can you post another video of him?
he’s not doing as much gargling as before now he’s just sleepy like eyes are at half mast constantly. I have however found that he’s started to like grapes again. but only grapes no mealworms. idk how to make this work ive been giving him as many as he’ll eat.

maybe something with higher caloric content? maybe like corn or peas? he’s never tried those but maybe it’ll work? he just has not had grit for awhile bc he hasnt been eating so maybe all the treats are a bit much

but i feel like eating something is better than nothing at this point
When was the last time he ate a full meal on his own? Did the vet think he was underweight and how severely? Do his droppings look small and dark or neon green like this one below to the right? 9F9952E8-57B5-4365-9EAF-D55A22476854.jpeg

One of my ganders made that after refusing to eat for three days, “I didn’t have a feeding tube at the time.”
That color also can be caused by liver problems or lead poisoning but happens during starvation because the liver is starting to convert its own cells for energy or so I’ve heard.

I’m just trying to gage wether your duck needs to be tube fed now or if he can wait until later tonight/early tomorrow if he’s not in a completely dire situation from not eating.

You can always try making him a soupy mash from his feed, it might coax him to eat a little on his own.

the last time i actually can remember seeing him eat a full meal was probably tuesday. I think he ate a bit less of wednesday. A lot less on thursday and then little to nothing on friday and saturday. by saturday night, I tube fed him. I tube fed him this am which obviously went terribly awry and i just dont want to stress him out after he aspirated.

his poop is a deep green but not neon i dont think. I watched one of his droppings in his quarantine pool this morning and after a while the green “lifted” off to reveal normal poo below. kinda like if you leave an m&m or skittle in water for a bit, the color floats around it like an aura revealing the normal color below. That leads me to think maybe its something happening in the duck equivalent of the large intestine?

I’m going to call the one specialist in my state taking patients again tomorrow morning asking if they can run some tests (and feed him).

Tonight I had success getting him to eat a some grapes, grit, meal worms, and a bit of kale. he didnt care for tomatos peas or corn. He will only eat if he’s floating in the pool and i throw food in. he refuses to eat from my hand (understandable given this mornings incident) and ignores his food pail completely 😓

he allegedly gained .3 lbs between friday and saturday but i think thats a fluke since I can feel he’s gotten skinnier
