Our baby chick woke up today but we knew it wasn't okay because it wasn't chirping.

We went to check on it and we saw that it had some sort of diarrhea, and now it can't stand up. It tries to but it falls over It tries to chirp but it doesn't make a sound. Also, its eyes are closed.

Also, it is releasing a sort of foam from its mouth.

We think it might have been the cold (it was around 70 degrees F inside last night) so we put her outside in the warm morning sun.

Please help!

Unfortunately, 6 hours after this thread was posted, the baby chick died. It broke my heart to see it suffer all this time but at least now it is resting.

yep way to cold, you might try to get some electolytes down it, the stuff you buy for human babies. You need to warm it up quickly though 100 degrees.
I guess this was missed.

OH!! From the photo......do you keep him/them outside?
How many chicks do you have?
What temp is the brooder at???????

I got it from a friend because the mother hen rejected it. I kept it in a cardboard box with some towels inside.

No brooder light, and I would say it is less than a week old.

It is struggling to breath now.

OK, I think it was just "pasting up". We removed the dry poop and it released regular wet poo.

It is now more active but it keeps dosing off (understandably, though...there was a lot of ruckus until 11pm last night).

We gave it a bit of water, some electrolytes, and in a half hour some yogurt.

It looks a little weak but I think it is from all it went through.

You need to warm it up asap, and vitamins would do it some good along with the electrolytes. The poor thing is using up all it's energy to stay warm. The temp should be 90-95F, you can just use a desk lamp if that's what you have available. Anything would be better than nothing.
