I agree with JeanW and CaliFarmsAR. I would also put this chick/s into a "hospital coop" away from the others until it fully heals up- or else the other chickens may try to peck at it. Also, I would recommend using hardwear cloth (like chicken wire but small, square-shaped holes). My chickens/ chicks can't get out because the hard wear cloth is so small. Make sure s/he doesn't pick at the wound. Hope this helped!

That seems like a peck wound. Possibly why the little guy escaped. What is your coop like? Where Are they kept? How much space do they have? How many birds are there? You can put triple antibiotic (with no painkiller) on it and keep the little one separate. It will heal up fine, just keep it moist.

here’s some cleaner pictures. i clipped her wings away from the area and i am going to put here in a quarantine pen.

Looks like it's been skinned by going through the wire.
Clean/flush the wound with saline, warm soapy water or something like Chlorhexidine or betadine.
Apply triple antibiotic ointment to the wound.
I would keep her separated so flies can't get on the wound and the others can't pick at it.

Is she alert, eating/drinking?
Can she poop? Her vent is intact correct?

yes we have a brooder of chicks indoors and she’s in there we gauzed and taped her wounds after we cleaned her and she’s just fine at the moment eating and drinking and running around. her vent is intact we made sure of that. but, we found a dead chick in the fence this morning so it could’ve been a predator... but we don’t know.

Personally, I would not apply a covering to the wound unless she's picking at it. It will heal fine without it. If you do leave it covered, check it frequently to make sure there's no infection.

Sorry to hear about the other chick. Do you have photos of the housing/fence?
If you have something getting in scaring them, then making your fencing/housing more secure is needed.

it’s a 12x10 metal insulated shed on top of a hay trailer. Around the fence is a 20x20 dog kennel around it. they have plenty of space to run around. the dog cage is covered in plastic chicken wire with the tiny squares about 2ft high from the bottom. because of the chickens making dust, the fence has a gap between the ground and the fence bar.
