Help. Baby chick is possibly gasping?

I have a baby chick I picked up yesterday. It ate fine last night and this morning and now it is looking like it's biting at the air? It still loudly chirps but some times it shakes its head. Is there anything I can do?

Sounds like it could be sick or something. All I could think of would be keep it warm. That usually helps my babies.

Sometimes they can gape for other reasons such as:

• Too hot.
• Depending on the age, the chick could’ve aspirated water.
• Respiratory infection
• Bad heart
• High levels of ammonia in the brooder, creating possible mold and causing Aspergillosis (brooder Pneumonia).
• The chick could be dying.
