I just got two baby ducklings about a two weeks ago from tractor supply and one of them in healthy and slightly bigger but the other, she acted like she had NO energy, I would pick her up and she would look dead, literally, so every thirty minutes I gave her apple sauce and put sugar in her water and would sit there with her and made sure she was drinking and eating and now she has her energy back but her eyes seem to be stuck shut almost, I’ll moisten them and they’ll slightly open, but she shuts them right back and I try to carefully clean them and open them and look to see if there’s any build up and now she’s got white thick buildup in her eyes and I can tell it hurts if I touch them, so I don’t want to mess with them but I’m not sure what to do and I really don’t want anything to happen to her!

:welcome go to your local feed store or Tractor supply and buy some Terrimycin eye ointment. You can make up a solution of 1/8th tea of salt to 1 cup of very warm [not hot] water mix good and use a very soft cloth and wet the cloth and begin very gently wiping her eyes it may take some time but squeeze a tiny bit of this solution around her eyes to moisten them then gently keep wiping then apply the ointment. .
How is the ducks breathing any drainage coming from it's nares at all?

Is it eating reg chick starter now you said applesauce it was eating but it needs more nutrients than that. Plus go easy on the sugar too.

Very true sinus can cause issues with the eyes reason I asked if nares were runny. Sure hope not sounds like the lil one has a very good care giver.

The one who got sick, her name is Harper (we honestly have no idea the gender but my sister wanted to name him/her Harper haha) and she has a much pinker beak than the other (scooter) I know they are born with pink beaks but I’m not sure if that’s a sign of illness or anything! She’s much smaller in size than my other, scooter who has a much more orange beak. They have chick starter with the 20% protein, I’m not sure how old they are because tractor supply didn’t tell me, and I plan on getting the ointment tomorrow! Everything seems to be okay with her now cause like I said she did get very sick, she doesn’t have any drainage, she’s got her energy, I got save a chick too to put in their water cause that’s what tractor supply told me to do when she got sick! Thanks so much for all the advice! I’m at a total loss for knowledge with taking care of ducklings, but anymore they are what I’m doing 90% of the time haha! Also they are inside right now but I just got their outside home built today, and the weather is warming up so when they are big enough and have their feathers that’s where they will go!
