My boyfriend and I are first time duck parents. We have two created white peking ducklings who are 11 days old. The past couple days we have noticed that patches of their fuzz has been going away, leaving them with bald spots and patches on the sides of their heads, on their neck, on their bellies, and on their wings. We think that it is them just molting but since they’re so young we are worried that it may be something else. If you have any suggesting please let us know.

Also, one of them has been sneezing A LOT the past few days. We saw in another thread on here to use a product called VetRX. We give him a few drops in his nose every day as well as a few down his throat and in his water. He is still sneezing though so we aren’t sure why.

Please let us know if you have any advice. We attached some photos of their missing fuzz

Ok, all the picture's seem normal to be besides the first one, ducklings that age will develop bald spots throughout their body, nothing to be concerned about. I swear there is a post everyday regarding this problem. In my experience with poultry, the most common reason they sneeze is lack of deep water, so they aren't properly able to clean out there nares, dusty bedding may also cause sneezing too. About the first picture, did you apply something to its head? Have you noticed any other ducklings pecking her head? It may just be balding, just never seen it on the head.

Thank you so much! We haven’t put anything on their spots as they don’t seem dry or irritated but we might go get some coconut oil to put on them so they don’t get dry. The other duckling does peck at her but not too often.

Do not put VET RX into the nares or down the throat us it as a dry swipe over the nares in other words put it on your finger and swipe it across the nares not dripping into them, and in their water but you can easily cause aspiration putting anything down the throat, and choking into the nares.

Didn't catch that, thank you!
