Hi, I'm wanting to know if this is a Barred Rock, and also if it is a hen. He/she is almost 2 months old. Hasn't been around another chicken since it was a baby, and shows a bit of agressievness towards it's self while looking at it's self in the mirror. If it is a hen, i would like to get another hen asap, but am not sure if i should, for fear it might attack the new chick?

(About 1 week old, Shows head spot)

I would guess female based on coloring--pullets are much darker than cockerels. On the other hand, look at the size of those feet!

If you get a chick, then yes the older bird will peck at it quite a bit and maybe even kill it. If there's any way to get birds that are about the same size so that they have a chance to defend themselves, I'd do that.

that is correct, all females have a darker feather color than the males. then again, if im right, the males have a yellow spot on there head during hatching through the first week.

Definitely a hen. In any event, at this age I wouldn't recommend putting a new chick in with her.

It looks like a barred rock and seems like a hen but I agree that the feet look big and Roos are known to hav big feet
