Pasturization isn't the same as washing but I see what you mean. Most large production flocks have no male birds. Unless they are sold as fertile, chances are slim that they are.Im in the uk not America they dont wash eggs here
just to note, this egg was definitely fertilised, you can see, very faintly, the blood island beginning to grow. But the interesting thing is that this egg looks to be on day 3, not day 6 in this photo. Temperature problems could be to blame, but as you say, the egg has a barcode, and probably isnt fit for hatching. Hence the early quit confirmed in later threads.Just give it a day or two, nothings going to change in the hour since your last post. It doesn't look fertile to me but try candling in a dark room. Eggs with Barcode are usually pasteurized and incapable of growing life IF they were fertile, which is unlikely.
