Help!!! Bottle feeding baby goat with PROBLEMS!

Quote:
Just FWIW, the recipe I generally use is:

1 gal jug of whole milk, minus 20oz (pour off 2-1/2 cups)
Add one can of evaporated milk to the jug.
Top the jug off with whole cultured buttermilk.
Shake.

The buttermilk and evap adds a little extra fat and thickness without making it too foamy or frothy. Works good for us when we don't have frozen goat's milk to feed.

Generally speaking, I'd try to work the kids up to a 20oz bottle, 3x/day. The way I figure it, 20oz x 3 feedings x 2 kids (twins) = 120oz, total. That's one cup shy of a gallon/day being fed.

If a gallon a day won't raise two kids, goats wouldn't exist.

Sounds like a good schedule to me, I'd keep her on th 4 bottles, if she was mine she'd be on the 4 bottles til she was atleast 8 weeks. I can't say on the amount, it's been awhile since I've raised a full sized kid, and it varies so much by each individual (like I said I feed as much as they want at each feeding). My current 3 week old nigi is getting 5 bottles a day and taking about 6 oz each feeding. I can't say for sure how long I'll stick w/ the 5 bottles, I would be ok to cut her down if I needed/wanted to, but it's not a problem for me and she's doing fine so I won't be changing her anytime soon.
