So, this is my first time hatching anything and I "think" that today is day 19 or 20 (definitely over 18 days). I forgot to write down when I put them under Momma Chicken (She's also a first timer). I candled them today and they all have pretty big air sacs, the rest of the eggs are mostly black but they get a little clearer on the skinny ends too. When I roll them over the light you can see the black part rotating a bit. Momma Chicken has been getting up and wandering more than usual too but it is pretty warm where I'm at. Are my eggies goners?

I have some eggs that are similar. Dark in the middle and light at the end. I think it means they are still growing but I just posted to find out. Mine are in an incubator and today is day 12. I removed some eggs that weren't going to hatch from my other incubator, cleaned it and put Guinea eggs in it and I thought I'd candle the other incubator as long as I was in there.

I don't think, course I don't know, that mine with clear ends at day 12 is a bad thing but with your eggs being under a mama, maybe they don't "ripen" at the same time. If she hatches some babies and leaves the nest, I'd grab those eggs and put them in the incubator for a few more days. Sylvia

I forgot to say that I haven't been breeding but about 2 years. I've had Guineas and chickens longer but not really breeding to increase my flock. Sylvia

I have no patience. After opening one that I knew was dead (no movement, no floating etc) No baby chickies for me :(

That cut off part of my post... It looks like they all died around a week old.

That's terrible. I'm sorry for your loss but you really ought to keep giving it a try until you hatch a couple. It's wonderful to watch them grow from the eggs you hatched. Sylvia
