This morning when I went outside to feed and check on the animals one of my broodys was badly injured! I knew it was this other broody hen because she had blood on her beak. They were brooding in the nest boxes harmoneously for 2 weeks now and then they just got up and almost killed each other! The injury was just on her head and her comb is in bad shape....:( I put the other hen in a broody jail. And I took the badly injured hen out and got some peroxide, blukote, nutridrench, honey water, and some chick starter. Is this ok for her? Why do you think they fought after being ok with each other for 2 weeks? Any advice??? I want my hen to get better.

Broody hens are moody and hormonal. It's best to not to let them sit next to each other. Their broody instincts tell hens to protect their nests. That's probably why it started.

Chickens are good at healing up from wounds. Just watch so no flies can get at the wound.
