ok... thank you... she layed a couple of eggs today after we had given her some calcium earlier (4 drops from softgel) as we wanted to get her started on it and hadn't heard anything back at that time, the first one had a slightly thinner shell than normal and the second one had no shell at all.By that, each tablet contains 600 mg.

It should start showing signs of improvement soon. I think that the last person who posted about a similar problem reported back after a couple of months that his hen was doing fine at that time.Any thoughts on how long it usually takes to see improvement in guinea with possible calcium deficiency?
Thank you... She hasn't laid an egg for past couple of days and we are still having to tube feed her... really hoping she can atleast eat on her own again soon .It should start showing signs of improvement soon. I have one guinea hen that will lay a soft shell egg from time to time. Apparently she won't eat the oyster shell from the feeder. When I find her soft shell eggs, I pull some of the oyster shell out of the feeder and sprinkle it on the ground in front of the food feeder. So far she has laid a hard shell egg the next day.
Good luck.
Calcium is Calcium whether it is from a bottle labeled for people or for birds. If you don't think she is getting enough, double the dose that you are giving her.would something like this be better than using the calcium gelcaps for people? i just want to be sure she's getting enough of what she needs to recover... Please let me know what you think. thank you
