I'm looking for advice on what I should do. I am hatching call ducks and while turning tonight I heard peeping from inside the bator. One egg has internally pipped and it's only day 21! I haven't even gone into lock down yet. Do I start lockdown now or should I wait until day 23?! I'm worried if I start lockdown too soon it could harm the other 12 babies. Thanks for any and all advice

Bumping because I really want to know what I should do asap!

Ravyn is just getting caught up after being off BYC for awhile. I do a lot of hatching but not Calls. My first thought would be though that maybe your temp was a little high and so they're going to hatch early.

It doesn't hurt to go into lockdown early with other poultry, turning isn't as important at the end, so my guess is you'd be fine to lock down now, especially with an internal pip.

If it's definitely an internal pip, I'd crank up the humidity, but Ravyn or @minihorse927 hatch calls. I've just hatched regular ducks.

Raven has answered my message! Lockdown has been started. Thanks for all the help and tags out for those that could offer advice! Thanks all!

Haha I looked at it and thought, 'oh man, this duck has a seriously deformed bill' and then I looked at its feet and was relieved it was just a surprise chicken! I have no idea what kind it could be!
