i purchased her a while ago at the feed store, supposebly she is a d,uccle, but the feedstore is never sure. i also got a EE to go with her. she was always running around, she ate and drank. just recently, the last couple of weeks, she has not been able to walk and seems to crawl with her wings. her legs feel like she has no muscle what so ever. She still eats and drinks. i don't know what to do. now, on account of her paused growth, her sister is huge and treats the little one like a momma. i don't want to lose her and i'm sure her "momma" wouldn't either.

what i believe is a d,uccle

them together and they were purchased at the same size, but the other one just completely stopped growing.

My first guess is a vitamin deficiency,i know vitamin B deficiency can cause leg issues, stunted growth. You could try Poly-vi-sol liquid baby vitamins without iron,i believe you give 2 drops per day to chick(not sure for how long, but start with 4 days). Or try some electrolytes and vitamins. Try mixing her feed with warm water(so it resembles oatmeal)see if she eats this. Other than spraddle leg, this is all i can think of.

LMiller mentioned Cocci, could be some symptoms are, runny poop(may or may not contain blood),fluffed feathers, lethargic, not eating/drinking. Medicated starter feed does not prevent cocci. If you are concerned about cocci, purchase Corid(amprol) Dosage for Corid powder is 1/2 tsp per gallon of water, Dosage for Corid liquid is 2 tsp per gallon of water,DO NOT give vitamins during treatment(interferes with medication),give vitamins after treatment. Treat all chicks for 5 days.

If it is cocci and you don't start antibiotics your chick will likely die. It does cause leg problems in chicks the size of yours. Just had a friend with an 8 week old chick with similar symptoms and she had the stool sample tested and it was loaded with cocci. Corrid is the treatment. Her chick is improving. Mareks also causes leg issues and it is a very big deal for your flock if it was that. Just thought I would add an explanation for my suggestions.

i will look more into it.it's highly possible that she has gotten mareks because they were never vaccinated, but is it contagious if so then the other would have symptoms to. ...........oh and she does eat and drink,it's just her walking and lack of growth. her feathers are puffy as well if that's a symptom.
thanks for replying
