My baby chick for the past 24 hours has had her eyes completely close and acting weak. At one point I got her to crack one of her eyes and she’s now sort of eating and drinking but not much. I put some electrolytes in her water but she seems kind of weak and doesn’t move a lot. She was perfectly fine and healthy before all this but within an hour it seemed like she spiraled downhill out of no where

I had a chick like that earlier today, I held it and kept it from falling into a deep sleep by rubbing it and gently jostling it around, I also took a raw egg yolk and took a spoon and pried open the beak and placed a dot of egg yolk just on the inside of the tip of her beak she swallowed it and I did that like 5 times (don't pour it down her beak), then I eventually held the chick in my hand with a cup of sugar water in front of her (tipped slightly so the water was right at the rim) so that every time she lowered her head the very tip of her beak would dip into the water and that would cause her to drink. after about 2.5 hours of me working with her she managed to come around.

the most important part is to not let her fall into a deep sleep.

Could she have caught an infection? How are her broodmates?

You may want to try some egg yolk and sugar water, like ninja333pirate suggested. In conjunction with the electrolyte/vitamin mixture, she may be able to regain some strength.

Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that congenital defects catch up to them, even if they are not visible right away.

I’ve been staying up all night with her trying to make sure she doesn’t. There was a brief period tonight where we thought we’d lose her but she’s definitely a fighter

I’m not sure. She doesn’t have any outward injuries and it just happened so quickly. We originally used sugar water the first night so I’ll probably try that again too. The biggest struggle is getting her to inject the yolk. She won’t drink anything if I try to give it to her with a syringe. All her broodmates seem fine. They all are full of energy and doing great. It’s just this little girl

I had a hard time with the yolk as well, I literally had to take a nail and pry her mouth open and with the same hand you hold the chick stick a finger in the side of her mouth keeping it propped open, then take a spoon (i used a small clear plastic spoon) and placed the drop inside and let her do the swallowing.

Unfortunately she passed while I was asleep. I did notice that she had a red crust in her eyes and nostrils that hadn’t been there before.

If you ever have anything like this happen again Nutri-Drench is a great thing. It is a little pricey but totally worth it in my opinion. I'm sorry for your loss. :hugs
