Help Chick Gasping !

ok today is day 24 and my last chick piped and hatched out , he needed a little help due to being stuck to the membrain, when i helped no blood fully absorbed yolk sac, He has continued to get used to his feet past few hours moving around and stuff , now all of a sudden hes barley moving and lying on his side gasping for breath ! what should i do i just gave him a few drops of electrolytes

I've never hatched any before but I would guess there was probably nothing you could have done to save him. Maybe he had internal issues.

so sorry to hear about your chick - I had one with more or less the same problem and I wasn't aware of BYC - sadly he/she died after three days, I was in despair as to what to do to save the chick and I don't have enough experience to have done anything to help the chick - doesn't make me feel good that I lost it - it tried so hard to survive and I feel guilty.... I really feel for you, you had the sense to contact BYC but unfortunately there was nobody available to give you any advice.... my heart goes out to you.
