HELP chick in need !!

That was as high as it got she stated it dropped to 40 most of the time and he had to add water and sponges all the time lifting the cover even in lockdown
40 is a safer humidity to incubate at than 70. Dont stress on humidity, the temperature is the biggest concern. The high temperatures was leading to the higher humidity as well. Next time use two or 3 calibrated thermometers inside the incubator. The built in thermometers are most of the time completely unreliable.

How old is the chick?

Has it fluffed up now?

Is it still in the incubator with the other chicks and how many others?

*She has to make sure it stays warm enough tonight* - this is critical. What is it in?

Can she send an updated pic?

A few drops of sugar water are ok. Drops of electrolyte water or plain water are good, but just be very careful to not force it to drink. It can aspirate the water into its lungs. Either dip its beak in a very shallow dish, or do one drop at a time at the side of its beak with a dropper and wait for it to swallow before giving it the next drop. It can have as much water as it will drink, but just don't force it.

Its possible it will absorb more of the yolk. It concerns me that the shell is still attached though. Let us know how it looks in the morning!

I had one with a yolk that didn't fully absorb. The shell fell off after an hour or so though. After a week or so, the yolk dried/shrank a bit and we brought it to the vet to take a look. She removed some of the dried yolk, but then had to put a stitch in the abdomen. She reported that it might have been ok to leave it for a bit, but she decided to remove the yolk instead. She is doing fine and her name is Stitch. She is about 10 weeks old.

In the new photo, it looks awful empty and detached. Im not sure if any more yolk can get through. Is there visible blood veins in the umbilical cord, or are they all in the egg part?

It’s in the incubator by itself the other chicks are fluffed up in a brooder. It’s day old . This photo was just taken a few minutes ago. It is absorbing the yolk and gone down quite a bit in the 24 hours. She just put olive oil on it but feisty and kicks the shell off if she puts it near him. Will take sugar water .

Its going to want the shell off so thats normal. Let's see what it looks like tomorrow morning. She might be able to start removing pieces of the shell then, but I would wait a bit. More pics tomorrow would be helpful.
